About the Journal

Communicationis Mediorum et Turismi (CMT) is a peer-reviewed, open-access academic journal published by UTAMA Enterprise in collaboration with Universitas Pelita Harapan (UPH). The journal is published biannually, in April and October, and operates under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0), ensuring free and open access to its contents for a global readership.

CMT serves as a multidisciplinary platform that explores the dynamic intersections between communication, media, tourism, culture, and digital innovation. It welcomes original research articles, theoretical investigations, and reflective essays that contribute to a deeper understanding of how communication and media practices influence the tourism industry in both local and global contexts.

The journal aims to foster academic dialogue across the fields of communication studies, tourism studies, media and cultural studies, sustainability, and technology-driven tourism, with a special emphasis on the role of digital transformation in shaping tourism experiences and destination branding.

CMT focuses on a broad range of topics including strategic communication in tourism marketing, public relations and branding, intercultural communication in travel settings, tourism representation in media, virtual and immersive tourism, cultural heritage communication, sustainability communication, and the use of emerging technologies such as AI, big data, and IoT in tourism contexts. It also explores the growing influence of digital content creators and smart tourism innovations on traveler behavior and destination development.

To support open-access publishing and maintain high editorial standards, an Article Processing Charge (APC) of Rp 282.828,- applies to each accepted manuscript.
